You Are My Wild.

Every so often there comes along a super rad kids' & babies' apparel collection this good (see Accoustic Kid), and it makes me seriously wish I was 3 feet tall. Enter Australian brand, Munster Kids. You just have to see it for yourself. It's ridiculous.

There's a new world of children's book illustration in which animals and creatures and things look awesome, and the colors are fresh and unexpected. I like this world. Martin Salisbury explores this in his lovely book Playpen. While it ranges in handwriting, there's a richness and a throwback quality about each of the featured artist's work that brings a new vibrance and life to the written word in a very avant garde, very cool way. In Playpen are such BYGM faves as Marc Boutavant, Sara Fanelli, Brian Biggs and J.otto Seibold.

"We want to be a voice to children that says it’s okay to be curious, to be pensive, to be loud, to be happy and sad all at the same time, to be generous, to be afraid, to be quiet, to be wild, to be fun, to be open, to be scientific, to be poetic, to be giddy, to be serious, to be smart, to be free, to be you."
Need I say more? I love this brand. If plastic toys have to be a necessity in our lives as parents (which they are - I've come to grips with this), these are the playthings to have around the house. Inspired and quirky color combos (read: saturated olive and navy popped with neon pink and orange), safe materials, well made and just truly fun to play with and look at. And - they give back to children in need (10¢ of every purchase goes to Free the Children). Superlike.

Hanging by a String.

Where have YOU been all my life?? There are a lot of mobiles out there. But nothing like this gorgeous set of polyhedron solids. Designed by Sweden-born (of course) Clara von Zweigbergk -- who studied at not only Beckmans School of Design in her native Stockholm, but also at renowned Art Center in Pasadena -- Artecnica's Themis mobile ornaments are individually colored in neons, purples and dark neutrals, and take my breath away. I will now go and stare at these all day.

With the crazygood design on these vintage trikes, why ever buy new? The little tyke will look so fresh pedaling his heart out on one of these gems.
